I’m Nathan Soules, and this is my blog about running. I’ve been running for eight and a half years now, and I’ve competed in everything from a 4X400m Relay to a 50 mile Ultramarathon and everything in between. I find that running is a series of personal experiments, so you will find a lot of anecdotal advice here that has resulted from these “experiments”. Of course, an experiment with only one subject can only reveal so much, so I will supplement by referring to recent studies on running & performance science. Hopefully, between the two, you’ll find the answers to what will or won’t work for you.
I’ll also have a lot of info on my own running. My current goal is to qualify for the Boston Marathon. At this point I’m nowhere near that goal, but nevertheless, it’s something I’m working towards. Also, I’m a big trail runner, and an advocate of it. It’s a great way to avoid injuries, develop strength, and it’s a lot more fun then running on the roads!
So there you have it. Enjoy reading & running

Hi Nathan,
I have been a barefoot runner for 6+ years. I am in the process of designing & launching the only true “next best thing to barefoot running” athletic shoe. No B.S., no gimmicks. Send me an email as I’m looking for people that are equally as passionate about natural movement and making it the norm in our running society. Hope to hear from you. Best, David.
